Ms A. (Anna) Michel Albo (LL.M.) works at Knoops’ Advocaten as a Legal Assistant.
Anna completed a bilingual French- and English-language law programme at Aix-Marseille University (France) and the University of Kent (United Kingdom), where she graduated with honours, obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in French Law, a Bachelor’s degree in Common Law, and a Master’s degree in International and European Law.
She also obtained a Master’s degree in Law and Politics of International Security from Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam. In her thesis, she examined how non-state armed groups use international law to reshape political authority in armed conflicts.
Before joining Knoops’ Advocaten, Anna gained experience in criminal law and international security at criminal law firms in France and at the European Leadership Network, a think tank specialising in European security and strategic affairs. Her work focused on legal research, case analysis, and the study of complex geopolitical and security-related issues at the intersection of law and international relations.
Her areas of interest include international criminal law, terrorism and the study of non-state armed groups, as well as the interaction between legal norms and political power in contemporary conflicts.
